AASU STAGES MASSIVE PROTEST AGAINST FUEL PRICE HIKE

Guwahati, October 4, 2018:

The All Assam Students Union (AASU) on Thursday staged massive protest at Dighalipukhuri against the steep rise in fuel prices. Members of the students union staged peaceful protest holding placards and shouted slogans against the government.

Talking to InsideNe, Simanta Thakuria, Central Committee State Executive of AASU said that due to the increase in petrol, diesel and LPG prices, common people are suffering the most and not only in Guwahati, the protest has been carried out in all the district headquarters across the state. Condemning the recent 30 percent hike in bus fares, the student union leader demanded special concession for students.

The protestors also urged the government to immediately cut down fuel prices.
