Samujjal Bhattacharya, AASU advisor further said, “We have faith in SC and so we had actively supported the process of the NRC but in the end, we did not find the desired results. There should have been physical verifications too but there were not. We want the loopholes to be corrected soon and so we appeal authorities to take proper initiative for this.”

He further added that several indigenous people were excluded from the NRC but many illegal migrants were included. He further claimed there should be a process where the indigenous people could be added in the NRC without having to visit the Foreigners’ Tribunal. “We also want a completely Bangladeshi free Assam”, he added.
