Nagaon, January 5, 2020:

The All Assam Students’ Union’s (AASU) General Secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi on Saturday categorically criticized Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over his alleged involvement in the Louis Berger and Saradha Chit Fund scams in the past.

Indirectly hitting out at Himanta Biswa Sarma, Gogoi used the term “ডলাৰ বগৰী”, which is an Assamese proverb referring to an unstable person. He added, “When the government in Delhi will threaten him to reveal his Louis Berger and Saradha scams, he will jump to any other party, maybe even the AIUDF.”

Responding to Sarma’s recent statement that he is hurt when there are rumours of an alternate political party in Assam, Gogoi said, “If the alternate party comes into power, he will be the first one to knock the doors of that party otherwise he’ll have to book a room at the Tihar jail.” He added, “The BJP will have to pay for their sins in this earth as they have hurt the people’s emotion.”

The young leader also turned down heavily on the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) saying that the party was formed from the martyrs’ blood and that the curse of the martyrs would not spare the regional political party.

Taking a jibe at the BJP government, Lurinjyoti also slammed that the days of secret killings in Assam have begun once again as the training for it was already done during former Assam CM Hiteswar Saikia’s tenure. The attack on the AASU members is an example of that, he added.
