A seven-year-old child, who was kidnapped two months ago from Assam’s capital city, was rescued from Seppa, headquarters of East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh, by a team of Guwahati Police on Saturday.
Police officials informed InsideNE that the minor was abducted by two persons – identified as Gaji Rahman and Rafik – from Guwahati’s Santipur area on 31stMay this year. The duo then allegedly sold the child to another person in Arunachal Pradesh for Rs 40,000.
However, the police succeeded in tracing and rescuing the child finally on Saturday and arrested both the accused, both of whom are now being interrogated.
The police officials added that search was also on to trace others involved in the case.
