A Stone Crusher Unit manager Apurba Kakati who was allegedly abducted by suspected United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) has reportedly been released in the forest areas of Assam-Arunachal border.
Kakoti had himself called his relatives and inform that he was released near Lankabasti in Nampong circle in Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh.
It said that he was abducted by suspected ULFA-I militants who demanded Rs 1.5 crore as ransom for his release.
Apurba who is a manager of a Stone crushing unit was abducted from Jagun, Tinsukia few days ago.
While anther person, Numal Baruah who was also abducted by suspected ULFA-I militants from Timon Habi tea estate is yet to be rescued.
