Guwahati, January 6, 2020:

Assam boy Mrinal Borah who was among the students beaten up in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) violence has alleged that the attack was a planned one and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Delhi Police are all culpable.

Borah said, “Bajrang Dal, Delhi Police, ABVP all are in this together. Delhi Police were, in fact, supporting the Bajrang Dal and ABVP goons.” While narrating the horrific incident, which took place in JNU campus on Sunday evening, Borah shared that the goons were trying to terrorize the JNU students, who were sitting peacefully to protest against the ongoing fee hike movement and Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

“We were around 1500-2000 and considering our safety, we started walking away from the spot. But they soon started throwing stones at us. Some 100-200 people approached us and started beating us up. We hid in the jungle till 10 pm. We were scared. We fled the situation and came back to Assam. I don’t want to die like Najeeb Ahmed. I don’t want my parents to search for me for the rest of their lives,” said Borah.
