Adivasi Extremists Nabbed in Assam's Kokrajharadivasi

Kokrajhar, September 14, 2019:

Two Adivasi extremists have been apprehended early in the morning today in Kokrajhar district of Assam. The duo was apprehended after Kokrajhar District Police, Commando Bn. staff, alongwith 210 Cobra, launched a Joint Ops last night in Lungsung along the Indo-Bhutan border, based on secret information.

The nabbed cadres have been identified as Pudan Murmu (aged 45), and Bajun Murmu (aged 24). While Pudan Murmu hails from Kejhorna village in Kokrajhar, Bajun Murmu hails from Superguri village in the district.

A large consignment of arms and ammunition was also seized from the cadres. Two AK-series rifles, two AK magazines, a muzzle loading gun, five rounds of ammunition, and 637 rounds of .30 M1 ammunition have been seized from the Adivasi extremists.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is going on.
