Former Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Mukul Sangma has slammed the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) for moving back into alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and claimed that it has exposed the double standard of AGP and also mentioned that the BJP cannot fight without its allies in the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to InsideNE, Mukul Sangma said, “AGP joining hands with the BJP exposes their double standard and the BJP must have got shaken by the dislocation its alliance with all the regional party. They must have used all means to get them back including NPP as well. BJP is nurturing all these parties because they cannot fight directly as BJP is using their shoulder to fire upon.”
Exposing the BJP’s weakness to fight alone, Sangma added, “The regional parties have been nurtured, backed up, funded, supported and therefore the regional parties are completely dependent on them. That is the reason they cannot dissociate with their alliance with BJP.”
