Former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta on Thursday reiterated his dissatisfaction with the alliance of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and added that it is not the decision of the party, it is a decision of four-five leaders.
Addressing the media, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta said, “AGP-BJP alliance is not the decision of the AGP party. It is neither the general Parishad’s decision. Also, I was not aware of it. The AGP will have to pay for this alliance with the BJP.”
Expressing his refusal to campaign during the General Elections, Mahanta said, “There is a conspiracy going on against me. The alliance with BJP was a decision of only four-five leaders of the party. There was no general Parishad meeting before taking any decision.”
The former AGP leader mentioned that the rumors of Mahanta being offered the post Governor of Mizoram and ticket for Lok Sabha seat to his wife Dr. Jayashree Goswami Mahanta are baseless.
