The AGP have announced a series of activities in order to express their distaste for the Bill, which is expected to open the floodgates to 1.7 crore migrants from Bangladesh.
Speaking exclusively to InsideNE, the AGP party President Atul Bora stated that the AGP will take out a torch light rally on January 18 to protest the Bill in every district . The party leader has also announced that its leaders will participate in a hunger strike on January 24. The AGP have also promised to take the protests to every district in Assam on January 30.
The AGP’s President Atul Bora had recently pulled out of the alliance with the ruling-BJP party and on the very next day, 3 top AGP leaders, including Bora, resigned from their posts. But Bora has stated that he is open to resume the alliance once the BJP withdraws the Bill.
