Assam’s former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday slammed the regional party Asom Gana Parishad’s (AGP) president Atul Bora as a leader with no ideology. “This party is greedy to gain powers and is ready to do anything for it”, he said.
“AGP can scrap all their ideologies in order to gain power. The AGP- BJP alliance was also there back in 2001, but no developmental work was done. Secret killings were also carried out as per the directions of the central government. They may win which we will come to know the real character by 2021.
Speaking about the internal clash between AGP president Atul Bora and senior AGP leader Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Gogoi said that they have been running after power which is why they have been fighting against each other. “They are so greedy that they don’t even care for the state. Atul Bora has no ideology as he has not been able to stand by his own words. Even after moving out of the alliance, they again joined the BJP. They have sold their regionalism for their own benefit” Gogoi slammed.
He added that the AGP speak of regionalism, but Congress is the only party which is a regional-centric national party.
