GUWAHATI: Left with 26 seats to contest from, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today all but finalised its list of candidates for the Assam assembly elections.
The BJP-led alliance partner would, however, announce the final list only tomorrow.
The AGP that contested from 27 seats last time in 2016, lost one seat in Patacharkuchi to BJP state president Ranjeet Kr Das.

The AGP first demanded 40 seats and scaled down in due course of time to 30 seats. The BJP yesterday said the regional party has been awarded 26 seats.
After the BJP refused to part with the Barhampur constituency, former chief minister and founder president of the AGP Prafulla Kr Mahanta yesterday announced that he would go ahead with his AGP (Pragatishil) to contest from at least 15 constituencies.

Boko - Tapan Kumar Das
Bongaigaon - Phani Bhushan Choudhury
Mankachar - Jabhed Islam
Abhayapuri (North) - Bhupen Ray
Barpeta - Gunin Das
