Do you remember Gohela Boro from Assam? After a promising start to her career, the ace archer's blooming career was suddenly brought to a screeching halt after she was diagnosed with the diseases SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus) and ANCA (anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies) since November 2016.
According to sources, the archer continues to suffer greatly and due to no marked improvement in her condition, has sought the Government's help to help combat her condition.

The young girl from Kokrajhar started her career in 2008 from Sports Authority of India (SAI), Kokrajhar, and would go on to win 72 medals at various National, State, and District level Archery competitions. After triumphing at the 2015 National Games in Kerala, she would see her world shatter right in front of her eyes after she was diagnosed with the rare diseases.
After receiving treatment at the Gauhati Medical College, AIIMS, New Delhi and Apollo, Chennai, Gohela Boro lies helpless on her bed as her family is unable to afford further treatment. Her body is wasting away, and she can do nothing about it.
Rs. 3 lakh is required for her treatment every year, however, despite receiving Government grants, is not receiving enough for her treatment. She also has to make several trips to the AIIMS in Delhi for evaluation. The archer requires significant aid to keep up with her medical bills, and she has pleaded the Government to help her stay alive.
