Guwahati, January 8, 2019:

Controversial politician and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief Badruddin Ajmal was seen opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill during the Parliamentary session on Tuesday.

Ajmal said: “It is obvious that the BJP has its majority in the Parliament but it is not about winning votes but it is about the emotion of the lakhs of Assamese brothers; that is why they have taken to the streets, that is why they are burning vehicles. The Bengali and the Assamese are both our brothers. If this is being done just to gain some votes, it is not justified. You have decided that you will give citizenship to the people from other countries, but have you done enough to feed the people of your own country or provide them employment? Before amending the Bill, the government must see whether the Bill will be fruitful to the Assamese people or not.”

The entire North-East and even the AIUDF chief , who has been embroiled in a series of controversies, have stood against the Bill but under no circumstances have leaders of the BJP bowed down to stand by the people who have voted them into power.

“Jatiya Nayak” who has been now renamed as “Jatiya Khalnayak” is yet to break his silence.
