GUWAHATI: The Assam Congress has stated that the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal to dissolve the party as soon as possible and that to remain a businessman rather than a politician, according to reports.
These harsh statements of Congress have come soon after the AIUDF's setback in the recent Assam by-polls held on October 30.
Reports suggest that the working president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Jakir Hussain Sikdar stated that he thinks that Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal is going to dissolve his party AIUDF shortly.
"He is a savvy businessman who understands how to run a successful enterprise. Ajmal should close his party and continue his business all over the world after the big failure in the by-polls," said Sikdar.

Sikdar has also stated that the AIUDF led by Ajmal, is engaging in religion-based politics in Assam, just as the BJP is doing across the country.
"Assamese people are well aware of their despicable policies at this point," he added.
it may be mentioned that in all five seats in Assam --Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar district, Tamulpur in Baksa district, Mariani and Thowra in Jorhat district, and Bhawanipur, Himanta Biswa Sarma led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won by margins of 30,561 votes.
