AIUDF MLA attacked with "Dao" during election campaign

Guwahati, November 21, 2018:

On Tuesday, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) legislator Nizam Uddin Choudhury was attacked with a dao while he was addressing a meeting for the upcoming panchayat elections in Algapur.

According to reports, Nizam was attacked by a person named Nurul Haque while he was addressing the meeting.

Nurul attacked Nizam suddenly from the crowd but Nizam's security officials save him from receiving fatal injuries.

The police succeeded in nabbing the attacker but the MLA has accused AGP's candidate Aftab Uddin Laskar of being involved in the conspiracy to "murder" him.
