MARGHERITA: Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita Regional Committee on Tuesday burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Dibrugarh MP and Mos for Food Processing Rameswar Teli at Ledo in protest against the closure of the coal production in the North Eastern Coal Fields Coal India Limited in Margherita since 5 Months.
More than 200 members of the AJYCP Margherita Regional Committee were present during the burning of effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Dibrugarh MP and Mos for Food Processing Rameswar Teli and shouted various slogans against them.
Kanchan Bora, the General Secretary of the AJYCP's Tinsukia District Committee said that BJP Government is a Government of "lie and cheat" and false promises which is why PSU's have been privatized in our county.

"North-Eastern Coal Fields Coal India Limited Margherita is the Spinal Cord of Margherita where maximum denizens of Margherita are directly or indirectly dependent, but since June 2020, coal production has been halted which has caused immense grief in Margherita," Bora said.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Dibrugarh MP and Mos for food processing Rameswar Teli have been silent whereas both should have raised their voices to open NEC CIL Margherita, he added.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who talks about Jati, Mati and Bheti is now in trauma due to Central Government diplomacy where only to loot the Natural Resources of Assam is the prime agenda of BJP Government at the Centre, said Bora.
"We demand Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Dibrugarh MP and Mos for food processing Rameswar Teli to open the coal production of NEC CIL Margherita at the earliest or else prepare for a debacle at the upcoming polls, he further added, sounding a warning to the ruling dispensation.
