Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi on Sunday defended himself against the allegations of taking Rs 3 crore from Congress party and Rs 1 crore from All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) by Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti (SMSS) workers to be a conspiracy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Addressing the press here today, Akhil Gogoi said, “Yesterday the man (Hiranya Pathari) who had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from SMSS had made many allegations against me. But I challenge Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP state president Ranjit Das that if anyone can prove that I took money from any political party, I will leave my social work. I will move out of the political world. We already planned to remove Hiranya Patari from the organization due to objections against him in the party. This is a conspiracy of the BJP and the RSS.”
“BJP- RSS has prepared a long list of my properties. If someone can prove my properties that those properties belong to me, I will step out of the world of politics today. This is a golden chance for the BJP and RSS. They just need to prove it,” he added.
