ALLOWANCE OF SURRENDERED NORTHEAST MILITANTS TO BE INCREASED

In a recent development, it has been announced that the allowance of surrendered Northeast militants will be increased. The monthly allowance which was earlier three thousand five rupees will be now six thousand rupees. It may be mentioned that a monthly allowance is being given to the surrendered militants for 36 months after their surrender. Moreover, the militants will be given a relief amount of Rupees four lakh immediately on the day of their surrender which was earlier 1.5 lakh. This amount will be kept as fixed deposit in the bank for three years. This policy will be effective from 1st April, 2018.
