Amit Shah to Meet Assam Students’ Organization at 8 PM Today to Discuss CAB

Guwahati, December 3, 2019:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a crucial meeting with the representatives of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) on Tuesday at New Delhi to discuss on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

The meeting will be held at 8 pm in Assam House in the national capital.

It is to be mentioned here that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is likely to be tabled in the Lok Sabha on December 10 by the Central government.

Interestingly, the day coincides with ‘Shahid Diwas’ of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU). Kargeswar Talukdar was the first to be martyred on December 10, 1979, during the Assam agitation.

The announcement of the amendment of the Citizenship Bill has created a panic situation in the entire northeastern region as the contiguous bill leads to a serious threat to the people of the entire region.
