Amit Shah’s visit to Northeast India was a photo-op, says Gaurav Gogoi

NEW DELHI: Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday termed the recent trip of Union Home Minister Amit Shah as “complete failure” and “merely a photo-op”.

Taking a jibe at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Gogoi said that the former should focus less on indulging himself in 'childish twitter duel'.

"Instead of indulging in a childish Twitter duel with his NEDA counterpart, the Chief Minister of Assam should admit that the recent trip of Home Minister Amit Shah to Northeast India was a complete failure and merely a photo-op", he tweeted.

On Monday, Sarma and his Mizoram counterpart took the border disputes to Twitter and engaged in a war of words tagging Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Gogoi further claimed that the Assam government should admit that the All Northeast Chief Minister’s meet in Shillong chaired by Amit Shah recently has failed miserably.
