BATADROBA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Batadrava MLA Angoorlata Deka turned up at a cricket ground in Kadamani area of the constituency in Nagaon district last midnight.
After a hectic day of campaign for the Assam assembly elections, Deka picked up stamina to play a few shots with the willow in the floodlit game played with tennis ball.
Clad in a red saree instead of a cricket gear, she even slammed actor Nayan Nirban’s delivery for a boundary to entertain several thousands of spectators that thronged the ground around 12.30 at midnight.

Although it was not supposed to be official canvassing to retain her seat in the assembly, Deka turned up at the venue of Kadamani Regional Youth Association-organise cricket tournament after she was informed that the tournament was inaugurated by her Congress rival Shivamoni Bora.
The BJP legislator has been making frantic efforts to retain her seat after an anti-incumbency wave surfaced against her over the past couple of months.
Even Union home minister Amit Shah was flown in to impress the voters of the constituency on the occasion of laying the foundation of a cultural complex at the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva at Bordowa last month.
