Another person has been crushed to death by elephants in Assam. This time, a farmer has been killed by the wild elephants in Lumding.
The deceased has been identified as Bahadur Chhetri of Lumding town. He was attacked by the elephant herd whole he was working in a crop land just near the high way. The elephants who came out from a nearby forest area in search of food attacked him when he tried to chase them away.
It may be mentioned that this is the third elephant attack related death in a day. Earlier in the day, one person from Titabor and one from Baksa were killed in elephant attack.
Currently, the forest department is trying to keep the elephants away from human inhabited areas.
