Guwahati, February 18, 2019:

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora on Monday slams Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sama over his comment on encroachment of Moinbari Satra land.

Addressing the media, Ripun Bora said, “Himanta Biswa Sarma is misleading the people of Assam and he is repeatedly saying that the Satra lands have been occupied by encroachers, then why they are not doing eviction on these lands? The controversy regarding the new BJP office where BJP National president, Amit Shah participated in the Bhumi Pujan yesterday, land  belongs to the Department of Water Reservation office in Basistha and two FIRs have been already been filed by the Water Reservation authorities and even PILs have been file for the same.”

Bora also added, “The Congress party president Rahul Gandhi, in the Cabinet Committee meeting has already assured for the party’s support to the government in order to deal with terrorism in the country. The terrorist activities in Kashmir is only due to lack of military plans from the government’s part. Due to weak governance and unplanned action these terrorist activities are being carried out in the state despite the orders of red alerts issued in the state.”
