Assam's Finance Minister and North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken a jibe at the Congress party on Twitter after the appointment of Sonia Gandhi as the interim President.
Taking to Twitter, Himanta wrote: "CWC decision to appoint Smt Sonia Gandhi as interim president of @INCIndia reflects Grand Old Bankruptcy of the party. Not too far from now there’ll be no stakeholders & shareholders and the ✋ shall symbolise Nehru, Indira, Rajiv, Sonia & Rahul? ONLY"
It may be mentioned that Himanta has a bone to pick with the 'grand old party' as it was reported that his career in the Congress was stalled due to 'dynasty politics' in the party, which created a tense situation between him and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, due to which he left the party to join the BJP.
Moreover, Biswa Sarma's infamous encounter with Rahul Gandhi in which he had alleged that the Congress leader was playing with his dog, instead of listening to his concerns, can hardly be forgotten.
Ever since parting ways with the Congress, Biswa Sarma has staunchly opposed the 'dynastic' politics of the Congress party, and has directed numerous attacks at the Gandhi scion, Rahul, in the run up to the 2019 Lok Sabh elections.
