After making a serious hit on the sentiments of the people Assam by scheduling the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) recruitment examinations on the day of Lachit Diwas , the government has finally maintain to postpone the exam.
Speaking to InsideNE, All Assam Tai Ahom Students' Union vice-president Basanta Gogoi said, "Lachit Diwas is declared as government holiday from the earlier times and the day is celebrated by us but this time the APSC and few other examinations were declared on this day. The AATASU strongly opposed this decision because if we don't celebrate the day of Lachit Borphukan who save the Assamese and the people this will be a total disrespect to his efforts. In support of that, the government has declared to postpone the date."
