Assam Public Works (APW) had launched FIR against ‘declared foreigners’ included in the final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Geetanagar Police Station, Guwahati.
In the FIR, it has been stated that declared foreigner, Jubeda Begum, Muhammad Jahur Ali, and Sahida Begum of Niz- Mikirbheta under Mikirbheta area were included in the NRC. All the accused possess the ARN no. 101830402030162301199 were declared foreigner under Section 2 (a) of the Foreigners’ Act, 1946 by the Foreigners’ Tribunal of Morigaon on June 13, 2016.
The complainant, Dhrubajyoti Talukdar has demanded an immediate investigation into the matter of inclusion of the above-mentioned declared foreigners in the NRC.
He also demanded arrest of the NRC officials who included their names in the final list. He further demanded an investigation regarding the involvement of any monetary transaction or fraudulent means in the inclusion of the names.
Talukdar also demanded to probe out any long-term agenda behind the inclusion of the names of such declared foreigners leading to any security threats.
A case has been registered in this regards with case no. 382/19 under section 167/34 of the Indian Penal Code.
