A two-day 'Youth Festival' of Army Public Schools of the Eastern Command is underway at Narengi in Assam’s Guwahati. The festival was inaugurated on Wednesday and will conclude today.
Army Public School Narangi is hosting the maiden ‘Youth Festival’ of all Army Public Schools in the Eastern Command. The festival was inaugurated by Major General Jarken Gamlin, (AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC HQ 51 Sub Area, Patron), APS Narangi and his wife Kenter Gamlin.

A youth festival of all the 22 Army Public Schools of Eastern Command was planned to promote an institutionalized platform to showcase the talents and non-academic pursuits of the students of Army Public Schools of the region.
This is the first of its kind festival and was conducted among the schools under Eastern Command across two locations i.e in APS Barrackpore for 10 schools and in APS Narangi for 11 schools.
The 11 schools which are going to participate in the Youth Festival at APS Narangi are ASP Basistha, APS Jorhat, APS Tezpur, APS Shillong, APS Happy Valley, APS Umroi, APS Missamari, APS Agartala, APS Dinjan, APS Rangapara, and the host school.
The two-day event will witness a host of competitions like singing, dance, painting, mime, photography, etc. along with several cultural performances.

A host of other dignitaries from different fields including Commissioner Secretary, Cultural Affairs, Additional Chief Secretary of Assam, and other high-ranking military and civilian dignitaries were also present during the inauguration of the festival.
