Army nabs NSCN (K) ultra

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 6 2018:

A suspected cadre of Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K) was apprehended by Sonari army camp under the aegis of DAO Division from Namtola in Tinsukia district on Saturday night. He has been identified as “major” Akhat Konyak.

The army also seized three extortion notes, one mobile phone and other incriminating documents from his possession. He revealed during interrogation that he was actively involved in the extortion activities of the NSCN (K) in Mon district of Nagaland.

The militant was later handed over to Sonari police station.
