To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 'Kargil Diwas' a ‘Run for Fun’ was organized at Tezpur, Missamari and Rangia military stations to pay tribute to the courage, valour, and sacrifice of the martyrs of the Kargil War.
GOC, Gajraj Corps Lt Gen Manoj Pande, AVSM, VSM flagged off the event at Tezpur and also ran along with the troops.

Manoj Pande mentioned that this commemoration is the Army's modest homage to the martyrs and to the units who gave India its most significant victory in recent times.
The event has received an overwhelming response from all quarters with approximately 2,000 soldiers and their families participating. A special photo gallery on the Kargil War was also organized to showcase the epic accounts of the brave men and their saga of bravery.
It is to be mentioned that the Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated at the Chirang Army Camp on July 26.
Commanding Officer of Chirang Army along with senior-most ex-servicemen laid floral wreath at Garhwal Rifles War Memorial in the camp to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas and paid homage to the martyrs.
The ceremony was attended by junior commissioned officers and jawans of Chirang Army along with 152 ex-servicemen from Chirang district. The ceremony recalled the supreme sacrifices made by gallant soldiers upholding the integrity of the nation.
