The voting for the bye-elections in the assembly constituencies of Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh is currently underway. Among the North-Eastern states, Arunachal's Khonsa West recorded the highest with 80.96% voter turnout till 2 PM
The voting began at around 7 am, earlier in the morning, today.

As of 2 pm, the turnouts of voting for Assam is 50.30%, Meghalaya’s lone constituency Shella is 44.02%, Arunachal Pradesh’s lone constituency in Khonsa West is 80.96%, and Sikkim 46.30%
The polling percentages per Constituency in Assam are
Jania – 29.55%
Sonari – 19.70%
Rangapara – 40.56%
Mangaldoi –36. 15%
The polling percentages in Sikkim, as per Constituency, are:
Poklok-kamrang 54.83%
Martam-rumtek (BL) 47.48%
Gangtok( BL) 33.22%
The voters today will be deciding the fate of the contestants for these constituencies.
It may be mentioned here that the counting of the votes will be held on October 24 as notified by the Election Commission of India.
