The Assam Institute of Research for Tribal & Scheduled castes department has organized the ‘Arunodoi Tribal food and Craft Mela’, a spot for ethnic tribal foods of North-East and specially Assam.
This festival is an initiative to bring all the tribes of North East together along with their food culture, craft etc.
The Arunodoi mela will kickstart from January 18 and will continue till 20 January at the Ganeshmandir Indoor Stadium field, Khanapara, Guwahati. The event will include myriad cultural dance forms representing different tribes from North-East.
The mela will showcase ethnic and traditional food dishes from the Bodo, Naga, Arunachali, Ahom, Gorkha communities along with other food and craft items.
The event will be graced by Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma and also feature other artists from Assam.
Addressing the media, Joint Director, Ganesh Kakaty said, this festival will help us the people of Assam and North East to know more about the cultures and the tribes of the North East.
