The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chhatra Parishad (AJYCP), an influential youth body of Assam, took to the streets of Guwahati, the state's largest city, to launch a protest against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. The organization also demanded the Government to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Assam to safeguard the rights of the 'indigenous' people.
Staging a demonstration at the Ambari locality in the city on Wednesday, the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chhatra Parishad protesters yelled slogans against the ruling BJP-Government, and demanded the immediate withdrawal of the controversial Bill.

Shouts of "AJYCP long live" and "BJP go back" reverberated across the skies, as the members of the organization took to the streets, full of zeal and energy to express their disapproval against the allegedly "communal" and "anti-Constitutional" Bill.
It may be mentioned here that apart from the AJYCP, many student and indigenous people from across the region are staging protests against the Bill across all Northeast Indian states.

Things took a serious turn yesterday, when locals in Silchar in Assam's Barak valley, which is staunchly in favour of the proposed Bill, launched a protest against the same, yesterday.
The Bill, which lapsed earlier in the year in the Rajya Sabha, after being passed in the Lok Sabha,
