A total of 191 stranded people have left Bangalore and Delhi in six buses amidst the ongoing nationwide lockdown for Assam on Saturday. Nearly 100 people from the state are still today stranded in Gujrat due to lockdown and they sought government's help.

The stranded people on the bus include student and migrant workers who were living at different places in Bangalore and Delhi respectively, were stranded over two months due to lockdown in the wake of COVID-19.

Altogether 170 migrant workers from Assam have boarded in five buses from Bangalore who was engaged as migrant workers in different places at Danksin Kanada, Jigani, and Hatebelli in Bangalore city. The people have left for Assam by buses which was arranged and initiated  Bangalore Bodo Welfare Association and All Bodo Students Union(central committee).

In Delhi, 21 member’s group of peoples from Assam have also left on Saturday who was reached in New Delhi by bi-cycles from Punjab and Haryana. The group who came from Punjab by bi-cycle started their journey to Assam by bus from Delhi. The bus travelling initiative was carried out Delhi Bodo Association (DBA) and well-wishers in the national capital.

Members from DBA and well-wishers have camped at hotel Lord Krishna Villah, Green park extension, in New Delhi to see off the stranded peoples who are hailing from lower Assam districts.

Boarded passengers have expressed their gratitude and sincere thanks to the Bangalore Bodo Welfare Assaociaton, ABSU, Delhi Bodo Association and state government for taking initiatives to send back to Assam during the lockdown periods.

Meanwhile, a total 3870 peoples are taking shelter in 41 quarantine centres set up in Kokrajhar district with 11 persons have been detected COVID-19 positive in Kokrajhar quarantine centre.

In Chirang, there are six persons have been reported COVOID-19 till Sunday with 198 peoples are taking shelter in 17 quarantine centers set up in the district.
