Assam: 2 Nabbed with Yaba Narcotics in Cachar

Guwahati, February 17, 2020:

Assam Police personnel on Sunday nabbed a duo suspected of smuggling Yaba tablets in Cachar district's Dholai.

Based on a secret information, the OC of Dholai Police Station and staff conducted a search at Janata Bazar under Dholai Police Station and apprehended two suspected drug peddlers.

The peddlers have been identified as Praneswar Das (22) and Sanjit Das (23), both residents of Shyamacharanpur under the Dholai district of Cachar.

The two peddlers were reportedly coming from Kabuganj side on a motorcycle bearing registration no. AS-11P-225. During a search and frisk operation, police recovered 49 small sized blue packets, each containing 200 Yaba tablets suspected to be Narcotic Drugs and seized the same from their possession.

Subsequently, both the persons were sent to the Dholai Police Station for a thorough interrogation. A case vide Dholai PS Case No.46/2020 U/S-21(b) NDPS Act has been registered and both the accused have been arrested and forwarded to the Court for due process.
