Assam: 20 litres of Illicit distilled liquor,IMFL,and Beer sized in Tinsukia

MARGHERITA: Around 20 Litres of Illicit Distilled Liquor, 52.56 BL of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL), and 195.6 BL of Beer were seized from various places in Assam's Tinsukia district on Saturday.

The illicit liquor and beer were seized during an excise raid and operation that was conducted at Rampur Jagun, Jagunghat, Jagun, Karpongpuri in Margherita Sub-Division.

The raid was lead by Anowar Hussain, Excise Inspector (i/c), Margherita Excise Circle.

Total no of cases were detected in the operation. Altogether Rs 3,000.00 was compounded as fine in the cases.

The seized liquor and Beer were destroyed in the exercise.

As per sources, the Beer and the IMFL seized in the operation were marked for sale, only in the adjoining state of Arunachal Pradesh.
