Diphu: Police on Wednesday seized 20 packets of banned Yaba tablets from the hill district of Karbi Anglong, Assam.
A special Naka was set up by the OC of the Dilai Police Station, Raju Bahadur Chetry, ASI Jiten Gogoi other personnel at the Dilai Bazar of Karbi Anglong on Wednesday at around 12:20 PM.
A 6 wheeler truck bearing registration No. AS 18C-4891 was intercepted and after a thorough search a vehicle with 20 packets of Yaba tablets (40,000 Yaba tablets in total) were recovered from the cabin of the truck.

The persons apprehended in connection to the smuggling of the banned substances are Hussain Ahmed (21) hailing from Bisnupur district of Manipur, and Nawaj (20) and Wahidur (19) hailing from Lilong district.
The drugs were seized following procedure of NDPS Act under the physical supervision of Bokajan SDPO John Das.
During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the drugs were transferred from Imphal to Guwahati.
