Two teachers from Hailakandi district have been selected for the State Award for Best Teachers for 2019.
The State Award for best teachers will be presented on the occasion of Teachers' Day on Thursday.
Subject teacher of Chalmars Higher Secondary School, Laxmi Niwas Kalwar and Headmaster of Polarpar ME School, Azizur Rahman Mazumder have been chosen for the State Award this year.

The Education department here sent a list containing the names of seven teachers to Dispur out of which two teachers were selected for the State Award.
Congratulating the awardees, Inspector of Schools, Rajiv Kumar Jha said, "It's a moment of reckoning for our district. I congratulate both the awardees for bringing laurels to the district. The award is a recognition of the role of teachers in the transformation journey of the education sector."
Jha further disclosed that at the district level, 21 teachers would be felicitated for their excellent work at a function to be held in Hailakandi on September 5.
