Assam: 3 killed in a horrific accident as cement-carrying truck hits culvert

KARIMGANJ: 3 people passed away yesterday in a tragic accident after a cement-carrying truck met with an accident in Karimganj district in Assam.

 

A speeding truck that was carrying cement collided with a culvert near Kunagram village, immediately getting damaged in the process.

 

The impact was such that the truck broke into pieces. The bodies of the deceased were so badly mutilated that authorities have so far been unable to ascertain their identities.

"This vehicle, that has a Nagaland permit, had loaded cement in Meghalaya, and was headed towards Tripura," local police informed.

 

"We have reason to believe that the dead persons hail from Tripura state," a local police official told mediapersons.

 

Earlier today, SDRF personnel took a JCB to the accident site to recover the damaged vehicle.
