Assam | 400 couples’ social marriages organized under one roof in Sonitpur

Guwahati, February 6, 2019:

A heart-touching incident took place today that is bound to fill all lovebirds’ hearts with hope. A massive social marriage ceremony was solemnized at Shiv Mandir field in Rangapara of Sonitpur district where 400 couples got hitched. This ceremony helped the couples who were unable to undergo the social custom due to socio-economic problems start a conjugal life with the blessings of the community.

The ceremony was organized by Tea Tribes Suraksha Parisad, Bharatiya Purbanchal and all villagers of the region. The rituals of the marriage ceremony were performed by many local priests and head of the local Satra. A successful marriage, they say, is a match made in heaven.
