Assam: 6 killed in road accident at NH-37 near Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: 6 persons died and two were seriously injured in a tragic road accident at National Highway 37 near Lepetkata in Dibrugarh District in the wee hours today morning.

According to reports, the Bolero vehicle -- with a marriage party -- returning from Sisi Borgaon of Dhemaji District to Bhogamur of Lepetkata hit a trailer vehicle parked near the spot. As the vehicle was at high speed, the impact killed six passengers inside.

The deceased were identified as Hem Bora, Madan Bora, Jivak Saikia, Prakash Das, and Kanpai Bhuyan. Although they were immediately rushed to the Assam Medical College Hospital, they were declared dead on arrival.
