LAKHIMPUR: The All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) of Lakhimpur demanded appointment of locals in the grade III and IV post at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH).
The AAUA-Lakhimpur unit claimed that Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier promised appointment of locals in grades III and IV posts at the LMCH.
The AAUA-Lakhimpur demanded appointment of unemployed youths from Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts in grade III and IV, appointment of trained GNM and ANM nurses from these two districts, regularization of temporary posts of ward girls, ward boys and cleaning staff at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital.
They also demanded supply of goods to LMCH by local contractors and halting eviction of street vendors in front of the medical college.
