ASSAM: ACCUSED BIKASH DAS KEPT CHANGING HIS NAME

Bikash Das, one of the two persons arrested by the police in the twin murder and rape case of Simaluguri and Mariani, was produced in a court in Sivasagar on Sunday. He was charged under Section 376 and 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

While talking to InsideNe, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bolin Deuri, said the accused disclosed to the police that they had raped the victims after murder.

“He also told us about his brother, Khiro Mohan Das, who was declared as foreigner and sent to a detention camp in Goalpara by the Sivasagar police. Since their citizenship is doubtful, they keep changing their names and places. The other names of Das as he mentioned were Bez Mohan Das and Tez Mohan Das and his father’s names are Raj Mohan Das and Makhanlal Das. His original address is Mirigaon in Tengabari under Chabua in Dibrugarh district.
