The Kamrup (Metro) district in Assam has 99 active containment zones as on June 17th, 2020, the District Disaster Management Authority, Kamrup (Metro), stated. Meanwhile, the status has been withdrawn by the district administration from 35 areas in the city.
The district has registered a total of 552 confirmed COVID-19 cases; of which 216 are active cases and 329 have been cured and discharged while four persons died due to the infection so far.
Kamrup (M) is followed by 306 cases in Dhubri, 237 in Hojai, 216 in Golaghat, 188 in Nagaon, and 146 in Kamrup in Assam, according to the data provided by the Government of Assam. Meanwhile, South Salmara Mankachar registered the lowest COVID-19 cases. It has reported six COVID-19 cases followed by nine in Majuli, the river island district.

Assam has recorded highest COVID-19 cases in Northeast India with a total of 4694 confirmed cases; of which 2041 are active cases and 2642 have been cured and discharged while eight died due to the infection in the state so far. The state has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020
