A sizeable amount of narcotics has been seized from the house of an Assamese film actor called Niren Sharma from Uzanbazar locality in Guwahati city of Assam.
The outlawed substance, along with a large quantity of cash, was found at the Uzanbazar residence of the actor. The actor was apprehended by Latasil police authorities late at night on May 26, Sunday. He, along with four of his accomplices have been nabbed and taken in for questioning. His accomplices are: Himanga Hazarika, Siddharth Medhi, Mahendra Nath, and Ibrahim Ali.
It is suspected that the popular actor was running a drug operation from his residence and was the head of the operation. Police sources have stated that many different types of intoxicating substances were found in the residence of the popular actor.
Sarma is well-known for acting in Assamese blockbusters like Hiya Diya Niya and Joubone Amoni Kore. Police also seized drugs and other items from his house.
It may be mentioned that this is one of the most sensational drug-related incidents in Assam in recent times.
