ASSAM: AGITATION RAISED BY FARMERS IN GOLAGHATfarners golaghat

The deploration of the farmers in golaghat district has taken a toll as they have invested all their money into the cultivation of crops which are not getting adequate price in the market. All the farmers are issuing suicide threats to such a situation.

The farmers left all the tomatoes in the paddy field to rot as for every kilo of tomatoes they get 1 rupee to 2 rupee. While the tomatoes are sold at a price of rupees 10 to 20 per kg in golaghat town. To make things worse the farmers took loan from the Bandhan bank and also from other source and was unable to pay their debts because of the loss they had. They blamed Minister Atul Bora for not taking proper care of the prices.
