Speaking to Inside Northeast, AJYCP leader Palash Changmai said that it is rather unfortunate that an allegedly "communal" leader like Yogi is being invited to Assam during times of great turbulence in the State. "We do not want communal leaders like Yogi disturbing the peace in Assa. At all times, he has only been seen making communal remarks...that is rather unfortunate, and we condemn his visit".

Changmai, who has been at the forefront of the protests against the CAA in Assam said that soon, the AJYCP will announce a formal protest to oppose Yogi's visit to the State.

It may be mentioned here that Yogi has been invited to attend the closing ceremony of the centenary celebration of the Asom Pradeshik Yogi Sanmilan which will be held on February 12, 15, and 16. The AJYCP has urged the organizing committee to cancel its invitation to the controversial Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and cautioned that his visit could exacerbate the volatile situation in the state.
