Kul-Deep, one of the leading exponents of rap in Assam, has now added to the rising voices of protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Now, this khati axomia (pure Assamese) son of the soil has launched a protest against the contentious CAA through rap, an increasingly popular genre of music in Assam. In his latest track titled 'Eaiyai Biplab' (This is revolution), the rapper can be heard lashing out at the ruling BJP administration in Assam for implementing the Bill-turned-Act.

In a latest video uploaded by the rapping star onto his official YouTube channel that has over 10,000 subs, he can be seen taking digs at Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and a regional news channel that he owns.
Setting the mood with protesters chanting 'Aah Aah Ulai Aaah' (Come Come Come Out) by Assam bard Bhupen Hazarika, Kul-deep then goes onto rip into the rulers of Assam, and compares them with Bibhishan (Ravana's brother who went on to betray him). The video, shot entirely in black-and-white, shows a mood of doom and gloom and visuals of Assam burning due to protests are intercut with the rap star delivering the verses with aggression and vivacity.
After the initial series of violent protests that raged across the streets, the people of the State have been largely opposing the Bill through song, dance, art, and culture.
Meanwhile, the artist society of Assam, led by the heartthrob Zubeen Garg, has been opposing the Bill tooth-and-nail.
