Assam poll result Assam poll result

GUWAHATI: An astrologer, Dipak Borah of Jorhat, going a step ahead of the exit polls, has predicted that Sarbananda Sonowal will continue to be the chief minister of Assam after tomorrow's declaration of result of Assam assembly elections.

Borah's prediction says the NDA will sweep the assembly polls winning as many as many as 69 to 79 seats, while the BJP will alone win 59 to 63 seats.

Borah's further predictions include Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) will get 8 to 10 seats which is lower than the earlier election and the United People's Party-Liberal (UPPL), the new ally of the BJP and the incumbent party in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), will win 4 to 6 seats.

When there are lots of speculations among the people regarding the CM candidates from BJP and Congress as both the parties are facing some internal discords to choose one, Borah's prophecy asserts that Sonowal will continue as the CM of Assam for 5 more years.

Borah's prediction also shows a green light to incumbent Jorhat MLA Hitendranath Goswami for another term winning his fight against former Congress MLA Rana Goswami from the constituency.

Borah had made the prediction on April 12, much ahead of the exit polls by other media houses across the country as exit poll were banned by the Election Commission of India till April 29 due to West Bengal polls, but made accessible to the media only yesterday.

Assam CM prediction

Even if not seat wise, but every nationwide exit poll align with Borah's one prediction and that was another term of NDA government in Assam.

This year, the Congress-led Mahajot has been absolutely confident of forming the government in Assam. Though the exit polls showed a different result, it indeed predicted a better performance by the Congress-led Mahajot than the past. But, the Congress has been reluctant to accept it and is still sure of forming the government after May 2.

If exit polls come true tomorrow and NDA forms the government, then it'll be interesting to see whether Borah's prophecy on next Assam CM will come true or not. Let’s keep fingers crossed.
