Assam: ATM loot recovered from pits in Dibrugarh; Police arrest two

DIBRUGARH: Substantial amount of cash has been recovered from pits in Dibrugarh district of Assamκ.

Reportedly, the cash recovered was robbed from an ATM and then hidden in pits.

Police has arrested one Rodali Brahma in connection with the robbery. After being interrogated, the accused has revealed that the involvement of her brother-in-law Pranab Krishna Sonowal in the whole charade.

Based on Brahma's revelations, Police ha later nabbed the brother-in-law.

A total of 25 lakhs was robberd from an ATM in Dibrugarh on October 9.

It is noteworthy that a former NDFB member, Kenairam Basumatary, has been caught in a CCTV footage being involved in the ATM robbery. Reportedly, Brahma is Basumatary's wife.

Police recovered over 1 lakh cash from Brahma.

Search for Basumatary is underway.
